Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item are enhanced by upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment results in a linear increase in the stats of a particular.
Players can recycle six items at once to gain a gauge for the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling an item varies with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to increase the stats on your armor and weapons. This can be accomplished by a variety of methods, including by using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity of an item or its mark level. Choose the item from your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, and any materials or components required. The Upgrade button at the bottom will read Blocked if you do not have enough of either.
The amount of upgrade components needed for a given item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The cost of an upgrade increases with the level of upgrade and rarity, but can be reduced using various ways, such as purchasing upgrades from a retailer or trading them with other players.
Most weapons can be improved by adding a prefix, like a rune or an insignia. Other weapons can be enhanced by adding the suffix. These upgrades add an adjective to the name of the item, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to communicate visual information. They animate to capture the attention of the viewer and stimulate interest in the brain. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language and makes them more effective in conveying an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs can also increase the retention of the message by triggering an experience of familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph has a range of values that it can enhance a stat, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This is the highest value that the glyph can improve a stat by but not the amount it actually improves the stat by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the product you are creating it for.
The majority of upgrade components added to items cannot be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you do not want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.
If you are looking to remove a glyph from an item then you'll need to save it using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item will be destroyed that it was installed in however, you can salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards, therefore it should not be considered as a loss.
The addition of a glyph to an item may cause it to become unstable and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory once you remove the item. You can also put an inscription to your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This can be helpful for players who take a lot of damage from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes on weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, such as mystery boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player a random affix that is generally better than the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be a good option to reroll stats on weapons and can be upgraded to provide better damage or perks.
Rerolled items do not appear on the menu for upgrade options, however they are still able to be upgraded. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to recycle. Recycling an item adds small amount of points to its level gauge. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and also its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than those with lower levels.
Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls roll a percentage chance of a weapon's traits. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be repeated up to three times.
Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, but users must be aware that it can lower the overall ilvl of the weapon due to the number of rerolls needed in order to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This effect of lowering is most effective with Diadems and ring items, which have no competing ilvl-raising options.
item upgrader have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It would be fairer to allow people to pay for it with money or food items, which allows players to make changes to their builds without having to invest too much time. The developers aren't planning to introduce paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. Instead, they're planning to add an option to change the race in the near future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The most effective method to level up an upgrade to an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This boosts the upgrade value for a stat. The iLevel can also change according to the upgrade path and base level. For instance an item that has been upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to an exceptional item will be able to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item type.
